Kirby: Planet Robobot Coming to 3DS June 10th

Kirby is returning with an all-new look! In Kirby: Planet Robobot, Dreamland is invaded by mechanical enemies with plans to mechanize the entire planet.

You will have to control Kirby in order to save the world from becoming a cold, stainless steel nightmare. Not only will Kirby be able to suck in enemies to use more that 27 abilities, but he will also be able to use their mech suits against them too! When in the Robobot, Kirby will be able to take hits like a champ, and even destroy obstacles in his way. Just like Kirby, the mech suit can copy an enemy’s ability, to use a super-powered version of it. Each different ability is called a “mode” and the mech suit can transform into 10 different modes.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will also have another mode of its own to try out in Team Kirby Clash. In this game, up to four players will be able to team up to fight and defeat powerful enemies. There are four roles to pick: Sword Hero, Beam Mage, Doctor Healmore (heh, get it?) and Hammer Lord. You’ll have to utilize each of the roles’ abilities in order to beat the boss in front of you.

Scattered throughout the game are tablets, and if you collect them all, your team will deal out a massive hit in the form of a meteor. Kirby Team Clash is also available for download play, so your friends don’t all need a copy to play with you, or you can play solo with sidekicks.

This mode will feature something new to Kirby games: leveling up. Each time you level up, your Stamina, Attack, Recovery and Team Meteor skills will rise, similar to how a Pokémon’s stats rise.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will also feature amiibo capabilities, with each amiibo giving Kirby a random ability to use. However, some amiibo will give you specific abilities, like the Mario amiibo will give you the Fire ability, or the Link amiibo giving you the Sword ability. Speaking of amiibo, with the release of this game, Nintendo will be rolling out a new Kirby series of amiibo, including (of course) Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee.Screenshot 2016-04-14 20.34.18

When you tap these amiibo, Kirby will not get a copy ability, but a costume unique to each figure. Tapping the Kirby amiibo will give an ability special to this game only: the UFO ability.
