Linkle Will Be Playable in 3DS and Wii U Versions of Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo has released a statement saying that the new character for the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors, Linkle, will also be playable for the Wii U version, and will have her own story mode missions. Pictures released by Nintendo show a storybook styled Linkle interacting will Skull Kid and Midna.

Whether or not these story mode missions will be Linkle’s backstory and history is unclear, although other screenshots released tease at that idea, showing Linkle with a map, running away from what looks very similar to Hyrule Castle, so maybe we will get to know this mysterious crossbow-wielding a little better.

A few screenshots have been released about other newly-announced characters such as Skull Kid and the King of Red Lions.

Linkle makes no sense to me. I don’t really see the point in her. It’s kinda like Ms.Pac-Man, just female representation for the sake of female representation, and the whole idea totally backfired. The feminazis are already tearing her apart.

I just think Nintendo is either covering their bases, even though they have several female characters – strong and “girly” – in Hyrule Warriors, or they’ve run out of ideas for characters to be playable, so they had to make one up. If the latter is true, that’d be quite sad because there are so many people in the Zelda universe they could pick. Honestly, I was thinking the other day about how amazing/funny it’d be to see the Old Man from the original Legend of Zelda game make an appearance, but then I realized he really wouldn’t be plausible… Who would you like to see?
