NVIDIA Technology Brings Power to Nintendo Switch

We’re still revelling in the announcement of the Nintendo Switch, but wouldn’t you like to know what it’s processing and graphic capabilities are? Good news for you, because NVIDIA has partnered with Nintendo to bring the Switch powerful processing and up-to-date graphics.

The Switch is going to be powered by a custom Tegra processor, which is a scalable, high-efficiency processor. It will include an NVIDIA GPU (Graphics Processing¬†Unit) which uses the same build as some of the world’s top performance GeForce gaming graphics cards.

Also included in the Nintendo Switch is a new physics engine, new libraries, and advanced game tools. NVIDIA also created brand new gaming APIs (Application Program Interface) to work with the performance of the Switch. Their newest API, the NVN, was designed with lightweight, fast gaming in mind.

Gameplay on the Switch has been even more enhanced with hardware-accelerated video playback and custom software for audio effects and game rendering. NVIDIA created a totally custom operating system integration with the GPU to have performance and efficiency run at their maximum.

With all the hype around the Switch, which we still have to wait five months for, it’s nice to know a powerful and reliable company like NVIDIA is working behind the scenes to give gamers a truly amazing experience.
