The Pokémon Company Creative Design Director Eric Medalle Killed in Seattle Windstorm

Pokemon has lost one of it’s finest staff on Sunday. American Creative Design Director Eric Medalle, 42, passed away when a Douglas fir crashed on top of his car in a windstorm on Sunday.  Eric died on impact. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, one of which was with him in the back seat during the accident and survived. The toddler was sent to the hospital soon after the accident with minor injuries.

Medalle had worked for The Pokemon Company International since 2003, creating graphic art for multiple English versions including Pokemon Heart Gold/ Soul Silver, Pokemon Ranger Series, Pokemon Black/White, and Pokemon X/Y.

The Pokemon Company International, Nintendo, and Nintendo of America have yet to comment or release a statement.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Eric Medalle. He and his fantastic work will be missed.
